Sounds In My Head

This is me. Born of Jamaican heritage and now calling Canada home. I grew up listening to Reggae and R&B as a child and rock, classical and beyond later on. At the young age of twelve I found my father’s copy of Miles Davis’ Kind Of Blue. That began a love affair with Jazz that continues until today. Here is a small selection of some of the Sounds In My Head. All the tracks you hear are my creations note by note. I’m not a musician in the traditional sense of the word. My music is interpreted from my thoughts to music software through a midi controller and a Digital Audio Workstation.

My aim is to translate what I hear in my head into music and since I don’t really play an instrument to performance standard or have formal musical training beyond guitar lesson as a child, well, this is the next best thing.

Though there are no musicians playing on this album I wanted it to sound as close to a band as I could to really convey my thoughts and give a somewhat real sense of the genre.   Of course, nothing beats actual musicians and their instruments and I mean no slight with this release but lets just say this is my band on a budget.

Maybe in future projects I will have a few musicians (look me up) but for now I share this with you. Take it with an open mind. Just listen and hopefully you can relate to it in some way.

Enjoy.
